Kundalini

Combining the yogic alignment traditions with an exploration of our individual anatomical architecture. From beginners to seasoned practitioners, this class hopes to broaden the knowledge of each person by learning to experience the movement of the body, uniting it with mindful breath, creating harmony in body, mind and spirit. Props are utilized to maximize each individuals’ experience.

Physical movement has evolved over time. In today's world, many of our movements have become repetitive by nature (i.e. sitting, texting, driving etc). Learn how to explore traditional Yoga poses using alignments as accessories to compliment the body you wear every day.

The practice of Kundalini Yoga balances the glandular system, strengthens the nervous system, and enables us to harness the energy of the mind and the emotions, so we can be in control of ourselves, rather than being controlled by our thoughts and feelings. This technology combines breath, mudra, eye focus, mantra, body locks, and postures in a precise, conscious manner to affect body, mind and soul. Great practice for all levels of hatha yoga practitioners.

The Primary Series practice of postures cleanses and tunes the physical body, The Intermediate Series purifies the nervous system and the Advanced Series’ cultivates strength and grace. Each series of postures must be accomplished before proceeding to the next. The sequential process of learning Ashtanga allows the practitioner to develop the concentration, strength, flexibility and stamina needed to progress in a safe, balanced and optimal manner.  Postures are linked together through flowing movement (vinyasa). Vinyasa means breath synchronized with movement and is always synchronized with the breath.

A unique blend of styles, this class is never the same. Vinyasa based, this class will inspire your body and your mind. The class is often a blend of what the participant's needs are that day, modifications and variations are always taught and encouraged. Blending alignment, technique, breath, energy and body this class has something for everyone.

A slower approach to movement, the principles of the postures; balance, flexibility and strength are all addressed. This class provides the environment to adjust and adapt asanas to the participants needs of the day. A diverse series of postures and practices are experienced in a way that allow everyone to find benefit in personal movement, breath patterns and mindfulness.

The best way to support your meditation practice is in a group setting. Join us for our Reiki & Meditation Circle. Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Energy centers are restored to their natural state of flow improving overall health. This class is an exclusive technique designed by The Prana Lab (done seated in a chair) is a blend of Reiki and Meditation to facilitate healing on all levels. Psychologically, an hour class is equivalent to 4 hours of sleep.

This class addresses the two types of energy or Prana that flows through our bodies. Our Yang energy is warm and active and our Yin energy which is cool and quiet. Yin yoga is a style of Yoga that works to exercise the connective tissues in the body to promote vitality of Prana and flexibility and ease of the joints. Yin Yoga poses are held for several minutes to promote this healing. Yang Yoga also known as active Yoga is to build strength and heat. Static and dynamic (flow) series are integrated to find the perfect balance. All levels welcome.

A slow, gentle paced class utilizing props to support and deepen the sensations in the body. A wonderful class for all levels. Deep stretches and releases in the body, mind and spirit are enjoyed through this meditative class as the body discovers strength and balance. The class concludes with a Yoga Nidra practice (about 20 min guided meditation).

A Prana Lab favorite, this signature class has been packing the room for over 15 years. It's beautifully choreographed postures create stretch and relaxation for the body and mind. Done completely on the floor utilizing a multitude of props it is more active than a traditional restorative class, incorporates deep yin postures and provides a great stretch for all levels.
